COVID-19 TESTING

COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) is a disease caused by a virus named SARS-CoV-2 and was discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan, China.

It is HIGHLY contagious and has QUICK SPREAD around the world.

COVID-19 most often causes respiratory symptoms that can feel much like a cold, a flu, or pneumonia.

  • PCR:

    • Sample collection: nasopharynx

    • Results: available in 24 hours.

    • A doctor's test order (script) is required.

  • Rapid Test:

    • Sample collection: nasopharynx

    • Results: available in 2-4 hours.

  • Spike protein test:

    • Sample collection: blood sample 

    • Results: available in 24 hours.

    • This test will measure antibodies post exposure (non vaccinated person) or antibodies post vaccination.

  • Saliva specimen collection test:

    • Sample collection: saliva (must have  not eat or drink anything 30 minutes prior to testing).

    • Recommended for children

    • Results: available within 48 hours.

The sample collection process is the same for all nasopharynx test (Rapid Test, ID Now, PCR).
